If at first you succeed, try again…Both these were done at Higham Hall.
In the background is the first version (larger photo of it), which was ultimately more successful. Partly because of my choice of colours, especially that green. Partly because it’s on thicker, more absorbent watercolour paper than the second version, which is on thinner, smooth drawing paper. You can see how the water sprayed onto it has flowed with gravity straight down and off the bottom rather than soaking into the paper.
